Questions?

Stand up paddling is new to most people so you may have some questions.  Some of the most common are answered below.  If you still have questions please give us a call or send an email.
Is it hard to balance?

The most common question by far.  It is NOT very difficult to balance atop
the board.  It is much easier than a skateboard, snowboard or surfboard.  If that still isn't very encouraging rest assured we have some boards that are very wide for added stability that are designed for someone who is a little unsure of their balance.

Will I get wet?

Probably only your feet, and your knees and/or seat if you kneel or sit on the board.  Most people do not ever fall in.

What do I wear?
Wear something comfortable and weather appropriate, keeping in mind you may get your knees and seat a little wet while first getting on the board.  We've had people wear a swimsuit on warm days or a sweatshirt and hat on cold days.  Shoes are not recommended, barefoot is best.
What if I get out there and am unable to stand up?

This hasn't happened yet but if you are feeling very unsure about the standing up part then we stay on our knees or in a seated position for a while.  This is very fun and satisfying on its own, but our goal is to get you standing if you want to.  We will go slowly and patiently work with you until you get comfortable and balanced enough to stand.  It will never be a rushed or stressful situation, we're there to enjoy.

Do I have to know how to swim?

You do not have to be a champion swimmer but yes, you need to know how to swim at a basic level
